3rd INTERNATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY & ENERGY EFFICIENCY FORUM

Meeting Point for Professionals
On October 17-18, 2011 (Hotel InterContinental) the Fuel Alternative Company jointly with the Association of participants of Ukrainian alternative fuels and energy market (APEU) organize the third International Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Forum (REF-2011) in Kyiv, a key industry event of Ukrainian alternative energy market.
The participation
in the International Renewable Energy & Energy
Efficiency Forum has already established a strong position in the plans
of players who are interested in developing and promoting of their business. During the year we have been preparing a business
platform REF-2011, to give forum participants the maximum that is possible over
two days - the quality information and communication, and to ask another
impetus to the development of renewable energy in Ukraine.
In 2010, International Renewable Energy &
Energy Efficiency Forum REF-2010 brought together over 260 delegates from 28
countries and this fact proves the interest in the Ukrainian market and the
relevance of the issues discussed.
Since the
last event, many demonstrational alternative energy figures had changed for the
better. For example, over the past six months
the number of objects generating "green" electricity has increased 1.5
times, today are 72 facilities. According to industry experts’
forecasts, the number of companies that sell electricity to the network for
"green" tariff will increase by 25% before the end of the year.
Since the
beginning of 2011, 207, 868 million kilowatt hours of electricity from
alternative sources have been produced and sold to the network, whereas in the
past year, the same figure was almost 55%.

set ourselves a goal to encourage this development by creating a unique
business platform for obtaining all necessary information for work in the
Ukrainian renewable energy market, experience exchange, acquisition of market
participants valuable new contacts, partners and investors, presentations and
projects "- Vitaly Davy, Head of the Organizing Committee REF-2011, the
President of APUE, says.
The forum
will include the following sessions: Conference on Solar Energy (Thermal and
Photovoltaic); Wind Energy (large and small); Small Hydropower; Investment
session, allowing participants to discuss the opportunities and possible
alternatives to attract financing, except for those few who are well-known, but
not all are suitable; Energy
efficiency session, focusing on the
state of this segment, its
prospects and possibilities of
realization in Ukrainian
conditions. Matchmaking
will generate optimal schedule meetings with other delegates, to improve
efficiency and effectiveness of event visiting.
THE HISTORY OF THE UKRAINIAN RENEWABLE ENERGY FORUM
June 2006
- Fuel Alternative in partnership with the French Oil Institute (IFP) organized
the 1 st
International Conference on "Alternative Fuels" in Ukraine.
For the
first time the attention of Ukrainian business was drawn to a segment of
alternative fuels and energy.
June 2009
- steamer “Riverest” with participants of the 4 th Annual Conference
"Alternative Fuels 2009" (Organizer: Fuel Alternative) on board made
the first in the history of Eastern Europe swim using biofuel.
A few
days after this important event President Yushchenko signed a law promoting the
development of biofuels. Inspired by this, Fuel Alternative decided to create a
quality business platform for the participants of the segment of energy from
wind, sun and water.
October
2009 - "Ukrainian House" on the Central (European) square of Kiev
turned into a business incubator of renewable energy for two days. Lighting of
the conference room of the event was made in part by using solar panels and
small wind turbines. So the first Ukrainian Renewable Energy Forum was held,
which brought together over 230 delegates, including senior managers and
company owners, managers of government agencies and international organizations.

October 2010 - 2nd Ukrainian Renewable Energy Forum was held again at the Congress Center "Ukrainian House", although it is now out of a series of events, meetings and conferences that were held in five halls of the "Ukrainian House". The branched forum program allowed participants to make their own individual schedule of participation in business activities, choosing from a set of features most desired for themselves. 65% of the speakers and 45% of the forum delegates were representatives of foreign companies. The forum brought together a record quantity of companies for the Ukrainian branch of the renewable energy, representatives of the investment and financial sectors using REF-UA in order to begin work in the alternative energy sector of Ukraine.

of the Forum in 2010: Activ Solar, Kvazar, Gressa-Group, as well as KPMG and
Azov Oil Company.
Among the Forum’s speakers in 2010 are the President of the World Wind Energy Association Dr Anil Kane, the Director of the European Association of Small Hydropower Marco Gospodzhinacki, the project managers of the German Federal Association of the solar industry BSW-Solar, and the Spanish Association of Renewable Energy AVAESEN etc.
